About WeBuyVintage

WeBuyVintage is the UK’s largest face-to-face buyer of jewellery, antiques and other collectibles. We run more roadshows/valuation days than any other UK company - over 250 events every month, as well as operating a nationwide home visit service. Our business continues to expand its in-person only operation which brings trusted experts face-to-face with the public all around the UK.

In under three years, we’ve grown from a pub-table idea into a profitable £50m+ turnover business, and we’re on a mission to make WeBuyVintage the number 1 way to safely sell your valuables in the UK.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Head of Tech / Development to take full ownership of our technical ecosystem. Despite our rapid growth to over £50m turnover, our tech stack is still in its infancy. We need a "builder" with a strategic mindset - someone who can code, automate, and integrate systems to professionalise our operations. You will be the technical brain of the business, responsible for building our CRM, upgrading our web presence, integrating AI tools, and turning our data into actionable insights. This is a greenfield opportunity to build the digital infrastructure of a disruptive brand from the ground up.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

CRM & Infrastructure: Lead the architecture and build of a bespoke CRM to manage our complex logistics of 250+ monthly events and home visits.

Data & Reporting: Centralise our data infrastructure; build dashboards that give the leadership team real-time visibility on profitability, ad spend, and logistics.

Web Development: Take ownership of the company website and events platform, ensuring high performance, SEO optimisation, and a seamless booking experience for customers.

Automation: Identify manual bottlenecks in our operations and remove them using code, APIs, or low-code tools (e.g., Zapier/Make) to save thousands of man-hours.

AI Integration: Pragmatically apply AI tools to our workflows - whether that’s automating customer support responses, assisting valuation experts, or analysing trends in the antiques market.

Strategy: act as the bridge between the non-technical founders and the technology; translating business goals into technical roadmaps.

Who We’re Looking For

A "Full Stack" Generalist: You are comfortable working with databases (SQL), backend logic (Python/Node), and frontend web interfaces (React/Vue or similar).

A Problem Solver: You don't just write code; you look at a business process, understand why it's broken, and design a technical solution to fix it.

Experience Scaling: You have worked in a startup or scale-up environment and understand the difference between "perfect code" and "shipping value”. As the first employee in this newly formed department, experience building and managing tech teams may be valuable.

Data Literate: You know how to structure data so that it answers business questions, not just stores information.

AI Curious: You are up to date with the latest AI developments (LLMs, Agents) and have ideas on how to use them to give us a competitive edge.

Autonomous: You are happy to work as the primary technical lead, making decisions on the tech stack and architecture without needing daily hand-holding.

What You’ll Get

4-day working week

Competitive pay

Be part of a rapidly growing, friendly UK brand
